Coach Mike brings a wealth of education and experience to the table. Upon graduation from University of Manitoba, Mike ventured to Boston, Massachusetts to take a mentorship at the world renowned Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning (MBSC). It seemed like fate when the ownership group at STRIVE was there the following week.

The two groups quickly connected and Mike was onboard. His passion for fitness and education took Mike across Canada and the United States visiting top facilities including trips back to MBSC, Altis, Exos, Drive495, and professionals in the field including Loren Landow, Charlie Weingroff, Dr. Andreo Spina, Dan Pfaff, and more. At STRIVE Coach Mike has worked with clients of all types; including professional athletes, weekend warriors, high performance seekers, clients with weight loss, and those recovering from injury.

Coach James brings a diverse approach to the world of strength and conditioning. As a graduate of the University of Winnipeg studying as a student-athlete, he has learned the mind-set needed to visualize and achieve personal goals as well as the ability to problem solve in a variety of situations. His experiences as a trainer with elite level athletes, youth athletes, general population and patients suffering from injury have given him the tools to support anyone at any time.

Coach James has had the privilege to work with a wealth of individuals, including Shawn Myszka, a private NFL Movement Coach, Cal Dietz, Head Strength Coach for the University of Minnesota, Kris Korfist, MLB, NFL, NCAA speed specialist and has also been influenced by World Renowned Mike Boyle of the Boston based fitness facility MBSC.

STRIVE believes that training is a continual, long term process, and that our success does not show unless seen in every client.

Strength isn't gained in a singular session, a nutritional plan given once is not often maintained. We are looking to create long term, consistent habits in training and performance.


1-on-1 Training Packages Include

Initial Assessment: An initial assessment involves a sit-down meeting with your coach involving goal setting, movement assessment, and planned schedule for your training. It is important here that realistic goals and expectations are set for the training period.

Client Success Sessions: Subsequent meetings will be scheduled through the training process to touch base on goals. These meetings are structured around the goals of the individual including and above performance standards, movement ability, nutritional counselling, recovery strategies.

1-on-1 Training Sessions: Will be specifically designed for the individual and their goals. They can and may be strength, conditioning, or movement development focused.

InBody Body Composition Analysis: If the individual's goals are body composition related, analysis can be done to review overall weight, muscle mass, fat mass, and weight distribution.

MyZone Heart Rate Monitor: Track your sessions with MyZone and receive an email detailing the sessions heart rates and effort data.

Open Access to the facility for AfterBurn, Movement Flow, Cardiac Output: Join sessions for AfterBurn or Movement Flow, or use the facility for added Cardiac Output

Open Email Communication with Coach: Have continued access to your coach during your training period.
